Food4Hull Open Meeting

Food4Hull is intending to start a regular informal monthly meeting open to everyone interested in sustainable, local food. The first of these meetings will be held

Monday 7 July 2014, 7 pm to 9 pm

The Admiral of the Humber, 1 Anlaby Road, Hull, HU1 2NT

Please come along and share your ideas about sustainable, local food in the informal environment of a city centre pub.

Food4Hull held several large open meetings in 2013, and subsequently set up a steering group which meets regularly. It has a logo, a constitution and a website http://food4hull.co.uk/

At one of the open meetings, held at the Freedom Centre in Hull, two speakers from the Kindling Trust (http://www.kindling.org.uk/home) outlined the various food initiatives they are involved with in the Manchester area (the Feeding Manchester network; the cooperative Manchester Veg People; the Land Army; and Farm Start) which promote local and sustainable food growing, buying and selling. This provided lots of ideas for taking similar projects forward in Hull.

Hull Land Army has been set up by Food4Hull working in conjunction with Hull and East Riding TimeBank.  The first teams of volunteers went out to sites in Autumn 2013.

Anyone wishing to join the Food4Hull mailing list, or find out more about Food4Hull, should contact Hilary Hamer, hilary@food4hull.co.uk or Lee-Ann Williams leeann@the3dfacility.co.uk
