Edible Garden Project in Hull
In an initiative to demonstrate to members of the public, how attractive and creative growing produce can be, an edible garden is being created in front of the Wilson Centre in the centre of Hull.
Plants will include coloured swiss chard, chicory, beetroot and lettuce. Height to the display will be provided by runner beans, peas and climbing French beans. As the produce matures, the public will be invited to join in the harvest and learn how to transform the vegetables into tasty meals.
The garden will be planted in May 2014, using plants grown by local allotment holders and community groups. For details on how to get involved email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01482 300 300.
