The 1st European Mutual Aid Network Summit 2016
This be taking place in Hull between 5th and 10th of September. The aim of the week-long summit is to bring people together to learn, share skills and look at ways of strengthening and empowering communities through building alternative economies. As part of the summit, Hull Growers’ Network will be hosting several events:
Thur 8 Sept 12 – 5 pm – Skillshare event @ the Down-to-Earth Herb Garden Everyone is welcome to come and learn about building raised beds using railway sleepers. The Herb Garden is near the University, off Salmon Grove, Hull HU6 7XS
Fri 9 Sept 2 – 4 pm – Mapping & tools @ the Hive (Community Enterprise Centre)
Learn about mapping for food growing from the experience of the Madison mutual aid pilot site. Discuss how mapping tools can help Hull Growers’ Network to increase local food production.
Sat 10 Sept 10.30 til late @ Frith Farm, Beverley, HU17 9FS Outdoor event :
- 10.30 – 12.30 Discussion forum on mutual aid in local food growing, or free discussion space
- 1.30 – 3.30 Hull Harvest Feastival event planning, or free discussion space.
- 4 pm Tour of Frith Farm and discussion about sustainable farming techniques.
- 5 pm Food and campfire.
