Schumacher North Meeting
Fri 22 May 7pm Quaker Meeting House, Bean St, Hull HU3 2PR
David Midgley from Schumacher North is visiting Hull to speak to people informally about the potential of setting up a Schumacher sub group for the Hull area.
For those who don’t know about Schumacher North, it is a forum based on the ideas of E.F. Schumacher and the practical application of them. He is most famous for his book ‘Small is Beautiful’ and for promoting ideas on sustainable economics, intermediate technology, right work and soil health. There is a circle of groups set up to continue his work: the Soil Association, Centre For Alternative Technology, New Economics Foundation, Green Books and an Institute, Society and College.
Unfortunately, most of these wonderful projects are based outside our region but now with Schumacher North in Leeds we have the potential to develop strong links and a Hull group.
David is in Hull on Fri 22 May, and from 7pm to 9 pm he will be at the Quakers’ Meeting House, Bean St, Hull HU3 2PR to meet with all those who are interested.
