Transition Hull has teamed up again with Hull Friends of the Earth to organise a programme of talks for 2015, with a focus on looking at low-carbon energy possibilities for the future. The first talks to be confirmed are
Mon 11 May: Find out about Electric Cars. The session will be given by Iain Hyndman, who works for Nissan in Hull where he is responsible for their range of electric vehicles. It will involve an opportunity to view a vehicle in the car park of the Boulevard Village Hall at from 7.15 pm, followed by a short talk at 7.45 pm and then a question and answer session.
Thur 21 May: Thorium – an alternative approach to sustainable energy production. Professor Bob Cywinski, Dean of Applied Sciences at University of Huddersfield, will discuss in laymen’s terms the role that thorium could play in future power generation. 6.45 pm Staff House, University of Hull.
Thur 15 October: Whatever happened to Tidal Power? Talk given by Professor Jack Hardisty, University of Hull, 6.45 pm Staff House, University of Hull.
