Wilson Centre Edible Bed
Hull City Council has confirmed that the bed outside the Wilson Centre will be used again for planting vegetables, to demonstate how edibles can be planted in small spaces and still look attractive. Harvesting the vegetables will take place as they are ready, and can be used by members of the public. At the end of the season the last harvest will go towards the Hull Harvest Feast-ival.
The bed has now been planted up with a variety of vegetables (see above, June 2016) and volunteers will be maintaining it, meeting either Wednesday morning or Friday morning at 10 am. The bed is on Alfred Gelder St, outside the Wilson Centre, and opposite the back entrance to Marks and Spencer. Do feel free to come along and have a look or lend a hand.
The Wilson Edible Bed is an initiative by Hull City Council with volunteers provided by Food4Hull, Hull Friends of the Earth, The Growers Network and Transition & Permaculture Hull.
