City Farm Launch

Friday 26th June 2015, 1.00pm

Rear of Kingston Youth Centre, 48A Beverley Road, Hull HU3 1YE

The City Farm is an exciting new project being developed by Recycling Unlimited supported by colleagues at HANA and Hull and East Yorkshire Mind.

At the Launch there will be snacks and cold drinks served at 1.00pm followed by a little entertainment and the official launch at 1.30pm. Guests will have the chance to register interest with the project, then have a look around the City Farm site. The team is looking for great ideas for activities to hold there, so all creative suggestions will be very much welcomed.  If you wish to attend please phone 01482 343 726 so they have some idea of numbers for catering purposes.

More about the City Farm:

The project to develop a City Farm in the centre of Hull is supported by Hull City Council. The aim is to introduce healthy food growing to people living in built up areas, often on very low income.

The project will be tackling food poverty, improving mental and physical health, boosting integration across ethnicities and backgrounds, providing light exercise, introducing cultural food recipes (through HANA) and providing a green space for people of all ages and backgrounds. The site is to the rear of a youth centre, so very importantly will also include younger people, who have indeed already expressed an interest, in the project.

There is also interest in providing a hub for similar green activities and agencies across the city.

The City Farm will provide a vibrant and educational green space in the middle of a densely populated area, on Beverley Road in Hull. Participation in the project is free and there is open access for people from all backgrounds and of all ages.
