This month’s Transition & Permaculture Hull meeting will take the form of a
Visit to Green Gardens, Beverley, Mon 11 June 2018, 7.30 pm
This site is an interesting area of a fifth of an acre at the back of some terrraced housing on Keldgate near the centre of Beverley. It has an established orchard, some recently planted fruit trees, a kitchen garden and other veg beds, greenhouse, chickens, and provision for social events. We hope the weather will be fine for the visit and allow us to have a campfire.
Venue: Green Gardens, 163 Keldgate, Beverley HU17 8JA
We last visited two years ago and it will be good to see how it has matured. The creation of a sensory garden is in progress. Sally and Luke will show us round and we can talk about the permaculture aspects of its design.
We will also be discussing the forthcoming ‘Transition & Permaculture Day’ we are organising on Constable Community Allotment this summer. We have a provisional date of Sat 11 August and we hope to make it an event which includes lots of local groups and projects, highlighting all the exciting environmental initiatives in the area.
To get to the Green Gardens site from Hull, there is a regular half hour train service from Hull and Cottingham, and the site is about 10 mins walk from Beverley Station.
